Not much more than a month to go and the festive spirit is filling the air. The kids are beginning to write their letters to Father Christmas and everyone is finishing off (or getting started on) their Christmas shopping. It is about time to sit back and relax, and let the Christmas atmosphere take a hold.
This Friday 21st November, the famed Winter Wonderland, set in Hyde Park will open its gates for six weeks of festive fun! You haven’t experienced Christmas in London until you have walked under the glowing arch into the world of wooden huts, fun fair rides and mulled wine.
London’s Winter Wonderland celebrates Christmas in a truly breathtaking way. Stalls bursting with unique gifts, international specialties, beautiful clothing and accessories and traditional decorations, as well as food stands, selling all sorts of festive treats.
Indulge the family with gingerbread reindeer coated in coloured icing, candy floss, mince pies with a dusting of sugar, and for the older members of the family, sip on hot mulled wine or traditional Austrian hot toddy’s.
This year, the Winter Wonderland has introduced a wonderful new feature for all the family- an ice rink! Get those skates and scarves on and make sure you hold tight to the little ones as you glide around the glittering arena, set about the Victorian bandstand and illuminated with over 100,000 lights.
Another fantastic addition to Winter Wonderland is the Magical Ice Kingdom, an awe-inspiring walk through a fantastical world of real ice and snow. Perfect for little ones to really feel the magic of Christmas.
If you are after something with a little more 'spice', London’s Wonderland Christmas circus is a must. An action-packed spectacular, which offers jugglers, clowns and acrobats, who will keep you entertained for hours!
Most importantly, who could forget Father Christmas? Winter Wonderland has spoken with Saint Nick himself, who has offered to meet all the children in London, for six weeks only! Follow the signs to Santa’s Grotto to meet him in person, see his elves toiling away and ride the Santa Express.
See you there!
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is free to enter, so you can come along to enjoy the festive atmosphere. Tickets must be purchased for the main attractions: Ice Skating, Magical Ice Kingdom, Zippo Circus, the Giant Wheel and Bar Ice. Tickets booked in advance, guarantee fast-track entry!
